"In this enchanted garden, it is a lovely day for an execution. He works at an easel, tenderly painting my decapitated torso, his bare toes sinking into a plush sea of blood-red rose petals. Beneath his lace and ribbons, he is as dark and sumptuous as a Dali painting. Statues of Venus lie in pieces before a gleaming guillotine where blossoms climb, while in the far background Marie Antoinette and her ladies stroll, oblivious, in their butterfly-colored hoopskirts. This love affair is an elegant tragedy, blooming like a carniverous flower, a nightmare in colors of satin." cjk
